A Brand Refresh Fit for Higher Ed
Unibuddy’s had a makeover! And we’re so excited to share this news with you as we continue on our mission to help 10 million students make the right higher education decision—but with an updated aesthetic.
Over the past five years, we’ve grown from 50 partners to 600+, from one office to four, from a tiny team of Buddies to 100+—and in this time, we’ve had the privilege of serving more than one million students.
But through this evolution, we did some soul-searching and came away with a redefined image.
Why a brand refresh?
We remain laser-focused on empowering students along their decision-making journey and committed to uplifting the higher education industry with innovative and trustworthy tech, but our aspirations are ever-expanding.
While we’re scaling and continuing to grow as an organization, it’s important to us that our brand reflects the changing tides we’re riding and the sky-high goals we’re aiming to achieve.
We’re all about authenticity here at Unibuddy—it’s what we offer our partners through our suite of products, and it’s what we intend to infuse in all that we do as a company too. It’s not just a claim, it’s a cornerstone of our brand.
To stay true to ourselves, we have to match the energy that we’re cultivating, and our visual identity must encapsulate that energy.
Does this mean our signature mint logo is history? Nope!
But if you were asked how you’d describe our brand, what emotions it evokes, and how it comes across, maybe you would have said that we appear to be fun, light-hearted, and bubbly.
And that’s not exactly how we want to identify today. So we felt it was time to graduate to a subtle, pastel scheme. We wanted our palette to remain colorful and eye-catching—just toned down and more mature.
Our new imagery features students in Polaroid-style frames—showcasing their faces and ambitions (with a nod to our old Buddy cards). We also have new illustrations that demonstrate our playful side and Gen Z appeal, and a new font with a more professional flair… balance!
What else can you expect? Just check out the new look and feel of our website. You’ll see a fresh new layout built to resonate with the audience we love to serve: the higher education community. And you’ll notice us starting to incorporate these changes into our platform as well.
While we had you in mind every step of the way throughout this revamp—and we’ve revitalized our brand to cater specifically to the higher education professional—we want to ensure you that students are still at the heart of it all.
We’re change-management experts, but we’re not changing who we are or what we do. And what we do for you, we do in the interest of the success of your students, first and foremost.
That’s what gets us out of bed every day, and that’s what makes us Unibuddy.
