What’s in these terms
These terms tell you the rules for using all services provided by Unibuddy, on behalf of our partner universities, either hosted on our website at www.unibuddy.co, integrated via widgets on a university website or provided via the Unibuddy Mobile App.

Unibuddy is a service operated by Unibuddy Ltd (“We”). We are a limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 09790742 and have our registered office at Third Floor, 20 Old Bailey, London EC4M 7AN, UK. Our VAT number is 233436034. We amend these terms from time to time. Every time you wish to use Unibuddy, please check these terms to ensure you understand the terms that apply at that time.
We may make changes to Unibuddy
We may update and change Unibuddy from time to time to reflect changes to Unibuddy, our users’ needs, our university partners’ needs, and our business priorities. We will try to give you reasonable notice of any major changes that affect you.
We may suspend or withdraw Unibuddy
Our site is made available free of charge.
We do not guarantee that Unibuddy, or any content on it, will always be available or be uninterrupted. We may suspend or withdraw or restrict the availability of all or any part of Unibuddy for business and operational reasons. We will try to give you reasonable notice of any suspension or withdrawal.
Our site is only for those aged 16 or over
Unibuddy is only intended for use by persons aged at least 16 years of age. DO NOT USE UNIBUDDY IF YOU ARE NOT AT LEAST 16 YEARS OF AGE.
You must keep your account details safe
You will be asked to choose a username and password as part of our security procedures. You must treat that information as confidential. You must not disclose it to any third party.
If you know or suspect that anyone other than you knows your user identification code or password, you must promptly notify us at [email protected]
How you may use material on Unibuddy
We are the owner or the licensee of all intellectual property rights in Unibuddy, and in the material published on it (except for user’s contributions – intellectual property rights in those belongs to the user). Those works are protected by copyright laws and treaties around the world. All such rights are reserved.
You must not use any part of the content on Unibuddy for commercial purposes without obtaining a licence to do so from us or our licensors.
Do not rely on information on this site
The information on Unibuddy is provided for general information only. It is not intended to amount to advice on which you should rely. You must develop your own views regarding a university, an undergraduate or graduate course of study, before taking or refraining from any action on the basis of information obtained from use of Unibuddy.
Although we make reasonable efforts to update the information on Unibuddy, we make no representations, warranties or guarantees, whether express or implied, that the content on Unibuddy is accurate, complete or up to date.
We are not responsible for other people’s websites
Where Unibuddy contains links to other sites and resources provided by third parties, these links are provided for your information only. Such links should not be interpreted as approval by us of those linked websites or information you may obtain from them. We have no control over the contents of those sites or resources. The applies to all services provided by Unibuddy, either hosted on our website at www.unibuddy.co, or integrated via widgets on a university website.
User-generated content is not approved by us
Unibuddy allows you to interact with other users, including student ambassadors from a number of different universities. This information and these materials have not been verified or approved by us. The views expressed by other users on Unibuddy do not represent our views or values.

Our responsibility for loss or damage suffered by you
- We do not exclude or limit in any way our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of our employees, agents or subcontractors and for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
- Please note that we only provide Unibuddy for domestic and private use. You agree not to use Unibuddy for any commercial or business purposes, and we have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.
Interacting on Unibuddy
Whenever you make use of a feature that allows you to post content to Unibuddy, or interact with other users of Unibuddy, you must comply with the content standards set out in our Acceptable Use Policy.
You promise that any such contribution does comply with those standards, and you will be liable to us and compensate us for any loss we suffer if you break that promise.
Any content you upload to Unibuddy will be considered non-confidential and non-proprietary. You retain all of your ownership rights in your content, but you agree for us to use, store and copy that content and to distribute and make it available on behalf of our university partners.
We also have the right to disclose your identity to any third party who is claiming that any interaction or content posted or uploaded by you to Unibuddy constitutes a violation of their intellectual property rights, or of their right to privacy.
We have the right to remove any posting you make on Unibuddy if, in our opinion, your post does not comply with the content standards set out in our Acceptable Use Policy.
Rights you are giving us to use comments or contributions you make on Unibuddy
When you interact with other users, or post comments or any other content to Unibuddy, you promise that your contribution is your own original work, and you grant us the following rights to use that contribution:
- The University whose widget you have signed up to shall be entitled to disclose your name with any contribution.
- The University whose widget you signed up to will have access to your contribution and may use it for their own purposes including (if you have consented to it) sending you information about the university or course that may be of interest to you.
- We shall be entitled to undertake research and statistical analysis on your contributions, either for our own purposes or those of others.
- You agree that you waive all moral rights you may have in the contribution (including, the right to be identified as the author)
You must not introduce malware onto Unibuddy
You must not misuse Unibuddy by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material that is malicious or technologically harmful. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to Unibuddy, the server on which Unibuddy is stored or any server, computer or database connected to Unibuddy. You must not attack Unibuddy via a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of service attack. By breaching this provision, you would commit a criminal offence. We will report any such breach to the relevant law enforcement authorities and we will co-operate with those authorities by disclosing your identity to them. In the event of such a breach, your right to use Unibuddy will cease immediately.
Rules about linking to Unibuddy
You may link to our home page, provided you do so in a way that is fair and legal and does not damage our reputation or take advantage of it.
You must not establish a link in such a way as to suggest any form of association, approval or endorsement on our part where none exists.
You must not establish a link to Unibuddy in any website that is not owned by you.
Our site must not be framed on any other site, nor may you create a link to any part of Unibuddy other than the home page.
We reserve the right to withdraw linking permission without notice.
The website in which you are linking must comply in all respects with the content standards set out in our Acceptable Use Policy.

Which country’s laws apply to any disputes?
If you are a resident of a territory outside the United Kingdom, nothing in these terms will prevent you being entitled to any mandatory consumer protections applicable in the country where you live.
Our trade marks are registered
“Unibuddy” and the Unibuddy “pen and mortar board” logo are trade marks of Unibuddy Ltd. You are not authorised to use them without our approval.
