Unibuddy Quarterly Updates - Product Release Notes
New functionality for Unibuddy Chat
Unibuddy Chat Buddy Card Redesign
What: The Unibuddy Chat Platform is getting a new look as part of ongoing efforts to boost engagement and increase sign-ups. Why: After extensive research and testing with over 500 students and validation from partner institutions, the new design will simplify the student-ambassador connection process. How: The layout is clearer, with a “less text, more visuals” approach, and profiles prominently display key details like areas of study and interests.
Ambassador Management Reorganisation on the University Dashboard
What: Unibuddy is making it easier to track, edit, and optimize ambassador management. Why: These updates are designed to help manage ambassador programs with greater precision and efficiency, ensuring our partners have the right information to drive meaningful connections. How: Unibuddy has added Nationality as a profile field in the buddy table, allowing admins to view, segment, and export using this filter. Admins can now edit staff profiles similar to student ambassador profiles, ensuring consistency across the team. Unique profile URLs simplify profile sharing, while clear ambassador labels (Incomplete, Active, Deactivated) make it easier to filter and manage profiles.
New functionality for Unibuddy Community
Student Roomate Finder in Unibuddy Community
What: Students can now use Unibuddy Community to find and connect with the people they're going to be living with by sharing housing details in their profiles. Why: This feature helps students feel more connected and confident about their living arrangements before arriving on campus. How: Students can include an optional new text field to specify where they’ll be living, along with a "looking for private housing" tag. In the "People" tab, students can filter profiles to find peers in similar housing situations.
Ability to Search the Community User List
What: Admins can now search the Community user list in the university dashboard by name or email address. Why: Previously, partners had to scroll through multiple pages to find specific users. This update will save time and make community management more efficient. How: Admins can now quickly find and remove specific users or check if they’ve accepted an invite, streamlining the overall process.
